A Nightmare Ends, A Dream Begins

2007 was pretty brutal, but I survived. I worked at and left 2 corporate jobs, and am still alive!

In 2008 I intend to find or create the life I want to live by sticking to my principles. I will pursue the dream I've always had, yet did not have the time and/or support to follow through. This time around, I will not make decisions based on social standards or people's "approval." No matter what anyone says to discourage me, I will achieve my goals and become the person I want to be.

Many thanks to my roommates for helping me keep an open mind and for their constant encouragement. And thank you to any visitors who pass by this site - your presence keeps me accountable!

Hopes & Dreams

Some momentary thoughts on life.  I wrote this while... errr... 'working'.

Dedicated to all the hopefuls and dreamers out there...

Somehow we all have to hold onto something
Someone to cherish, a dream to believe
A life to look forward to, a day of utter joy
We need that shred of hope in order to achieve

Anything, everything you've ever wanted
Could someday be right at your fingertips
But don't get caught up in the waiting
Just one question: Is it worth the risk?

Thank God for those deemed overly wishful
Who dreamed and believed and never gave up
For they've shown us how to seek true happiness
And to never be content with what's enough

Nothing can stop us from striving for more
Not fear nor doubt can deter our stride
And nobody can keep us from believing
Our dreams and hopes will never die.

WORK = TIME FLIES

1. 3 years of BJ

2. Johnson & Johnson Training in New Jersey / Trip to New York!

3. Google Holiday Party!

I just realized I haven't updated since my first training back in June! Since then I've gone through 6 months of work, my 2nd training in New Jersey, and many "interesting" & "challenging" experiences that would take too long to explain.  Thus, I will do my all-time favorite type of post. Pictures!

[ONE] Brian & I celebrated our 3-year anniversary (yes. three. holy crap) in San Francisco (our city!) and in Monterey/Carmel.

Chillin' with some drinks at Fluid Lounge.

The bridge we drove over for 3 years every time we wanted to see each other!

Us being silly on the beaches in Monterey!

[TWO]
Back for more at J&J Finance Leadership Training #2 in New Jersey.  And back to New York for more fun!

At Old Bay--our most visited bar in tha Bruns (New Brunswick). Miss us?

My traditional photographer's shot of the city.

Sake bombing fun in NY! Krista joined us too =)

[THREE]
Google Holiday Party @ Pier 48 in San Francisco.  Thanks Kyung for taking me!  It was quite fancy with tons of costumes, decorations, entertainment, food, and drinks! Awesome =D

Kyung and his TWO dates.  Lucky lucky! Haha j/k

I was the champion for the evening.... don't ask.

Kimmy & I at our lovely estate.

Palm reading sessions with Medusa at the party! I've never done that before.  Hehe

That's about it.  Good times.  Thank you everyone for the fun! Now time to go back to work! Yay.

East Coast?

New Jersey was.... interesting... especially the Bruns.  The best part of training was seeing New York again! This career with Johnson & Johnson has turned up with many "surprises" but so far I've been able to cope with them. SO FAR, that is. Will I be able to finish this Finance Leadership program? 2 years is a long, long time. But I guess I can look forward to MANY MANY visits to the East Coast. LoL

1. Got to revisit NY!

- my sexy pic of Times Square

- the train ride to NY from the Bruns

- "look at all the cabs!"

- my sexy pic of Wall St

2.  Hung out at a bar almost every night

- we're all California girls now!!!

- choosing what songs to sing

3. Did a community service project at the beach and saw exactly how dirty Jersey is: on the beach, Matt found a car part & Prite found a tampon!?! (you really don't need to see pics of these... I believe you can picture these scenarios)

4. Had many fabulous dinners together, although some were confusingly strange.

- Old Man Rafferty's... only get fish there

- my scallops @ Clydz... somehow these were the best scallops i've ever had! they were perfectly seared on the outside & perfectly firm/juicy/tender on the inside!  not to mention they taste grreat with a mango-strawberry-raspberry martini! =)

5. And put it down for the Westside!!

- reppin it at the restaurant

- reppin it during training:  Matt & I sung "California as a tribute to the East Coasters majority.  Then all the other Westsiiiide people came up to dance for us.  Woo!

Despite the good times, I don't think I could ever live in NJ for more than 2 weeks! (No offense, East Coasters!)  Let's just say, EVERYTHING is different over there.
